I set up a new auto attendant
- recorded the greeting and loaded the file in Menu Promopt
- Created Operator group
- Created transfer modules
- Created short code for testing Auto attendant

ok So i know it works mechanically, i *98 to test the AA and then press my prompts and it transfers to depts and operator.

I have the Greeting in the properties for Menu but it is dead air when I dial it.

So its basically two questions
1.) how to activate a auto attendant greeting

2.) how to control the Auto Attendant in front of or in back of the receptionist.

This is the problem.
The versions must match or you will have problems!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thats what I was assuming in the dark scary receses of my mind i would have to do...

So my next question is.. I can update it, I have been holding off.. But what are the cliffs to watch out for in upgrading from these diffrent releases? Also is there any documentation on upgrading i need to review or do i just drop in the 6.0 install?

It is all well documented in the tech bulletins that are download able with the software.

You should take the IPO to the latest maintenance release for 6.0 (6.0.18). You should then download VM pro 6.0.44 and install that.

As for the other stuff about Menu prompts? I assume you mean you went to the menu, then the entry prompts tab, entered a wav file name, then recorded it?

Yes exactly, The Auto Attendant is there and I can play it from menu promt to verify it was recorded. But dead air when I usse the short code or call from the outside. But the Mechanics work and If I press my promts it transfers to the dept. I'm working on the upgrade now. Thanks for the response and version detail.
