Hi,

We have been having issues with our new users. After our employees resign, we go in to delete the user and merge config. Lately, after we reuse such extension for a new employee, the system remembers old voicemail password and even if we enter one on the Voicemail tab, it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Try just erasing the old password/confirm password in the voicemail tab. Merge it and see if when you re-open Manager if the tabs are blank. If so, use # the first time they re-login. If it is still populated, there is a bigger issue going on that would need ot be addressed. If this is the case, post back what release IP Office you have and what platform (403/406/412/500).

I have tried that. I can erase the password, merge settings, and then go back and tabs are blank. However, it does not take # for login. I can only get in with old user's code. Platform is 406 and version 4.0 (10)

Thanks.

YanN1ck:

I would recommend upgrading to the current release of 4.2 on both the core system and the VMPro. Apart from that try this:

1. Stop the VMPro Database Service
2. Stop the VMPro Service
3. Open Manager and pull a fresh config
4. Change the users password in Manager and Merge the config.
5. Restart the VMPro Database Service
6. Restart the VMPro Service

Let me know if this works.

I have seen this problem before.. It had something to do with the working directory.. I can't rember exactly what the fix was..

I have rebooted the system late last night before seeing Fonedoc's suggestion. When I tested it this morning after reboot, I can setup new password. I will update this thread if it happens again, rebooting the system is not a great solution for setting up each new user. Thanks all for your help.
