I upgraded my 3300 today from 9.0. I first had to upgrade to 4.0 and then to 4.1. I am having an issue with voice mail. When a user tries to log into voice mail from their extension, they are able to log in and then when they try to play it from the handset they get "The voice message cannot be played because a system error has occured." If you dial the voice mail extension you are able to put in your mailbox and passcode and it works fine. Any suggestions on how to fix this error message if they log into the voice mail via the blinking voice mail button?

Did you run a migration precheck then convert database before upgrading to MCD 4.1.

I didn't I just used the software upgrade tool and did it twice. 9.0 to MCD 4.0 and then to MCD 4.1 sp1. Is there anyway to fix it without downgrading?

Issue to swap maintenance command which will bootup the controller to the MCD 4.0 partition.
Read the release notes for MCD 4.1 on how to migrate the database.
Once this is done then you can upgrade to MCD 4.1 successfully.

I tried the swap back to 4.0 and it does the same thing, so I swapped it again to 4.1. In this system, it is programmed to go to voice mail with keying in #5000 or 1500, is there a way to hard code the voicemail button on these devices to just dial 1500 instead of the new voicemail program. If I dial 1500 it is just like pressing the voicemail button when this system was running 9.0.

I probably should have mentioned that I am the end user, but am very technical. I didn't upgrade this system myself since I am not an "authorized mitel dealer", but I have been programming this system for four years. I am trying to get out of calling them back again because they didn't seem to be very knowledgeable. They are the only Mitel dealer left in my area or I'd switch.

Why would you swap it back to 4.1 if you haven't completed the checklist or have you done that? Don't forget to issue the maintenance command pending changes display all and pending changes delete.

What is the Voicemail Hunt Group pilot number? Not sure why you have 2 pilot numbers for voicemail access.

Not sure what you mean by new voicemail program.

Are you sure they are the only dealer in town? Have you talked to your Mitel TAM? (Technical Account Manager)

It really seems you need access to some documentation.

I figured it out. It was a problem with the visual voicemail. Version 9.0 didn't have that, so I had to go into each extension and program in the voicemail hunt group number.

Not to contradict you but Visual VM has been around a very long time. At least Rel 6.0 or older.
