Is there a way to change the default voice message of each extension. This is the message usually be heard when the extension did not answer the call before going to mailbox.
Record a greeting? If you are looking to change the 'default system greeting' of 'Extension (whatever) is not available. To leave a message wait for the tone.' That is 86.wav, 1163.wav, and 71.wav in VM Pro.

Recording the greeting is done from the phone. There are a few flavors of voicemail. Firstly would be IP Office Mode. Which I personally don't use since most of our customers are coming off of older Avaya products and are familiar with the other mode which is Intuity Mode. If the VM doesn't give you a lot of spoken instructions it is probably IP Office mode. Depending whether it is VM Pro or embedded VM the options will be different. Embeded is more limited as to what it will do. Google the user guide, there should be a lot of hits.

Basically, the customer wants to change the message "Extension 2xx is not available to take your call at the moment so please leave a message after the tone". Can this be changed?
As has already been ask, telling us the type of voicemail (Embedded or Voicemail Pro) and the mode it is running in (IP Office or Intuity) will help us give you an answer!
43.wav: "Your call is being answered by IP Office"
86.wav: "Extension"
44.wav: "Is not available to leave a message wait for the tone"
1141.wav: "When finished recording press # for more options"
112.wav: "Otherwise for assistance press Zero now"
I would suggest renaming one file at a time to NNN-a.wav and seeing how the prompt is affected. Recently had a attorneys office request getting rid of the "for assistance press Zero" portion of the recording, just renamed 112.wav to 112-a.wav
And also, the message "Number XXX is not available to take your call at the moment so please leave a message after the tone" can this be changed to the custom one recorded by the customer?
Refer to the FAQ and use Google - all of the information is there in Avaya's documentation. FYI, that is a list of ALL the stock wav files in VMPro, no matter the mode that you are running.
And derfloh's recommendation for a new default start point is excellent - again, read the documentation, press F1 for context sensitive help.
