I have an customer with an IP Office version 3.2.
We would like to upgrade the system to version 5.

The only thing is, that they have Voicemail Lite.
Is it possible to maintain the voicemail Lite or do we have to upgrade tot Voicemail Pro.

it works fine. it will upgrade. if in doubt, just copy the whole VM folder upgrade and copy it back.

Ok, so I can upgrade the firmware of the IP Office and leave the voicemail Lite on the old software level?

Voicemail Lite has been on the same version since 3.2 anyway as far as I know, just try it it's only a quick upgrade if it doesn't work :)

Ok but I have to tell the customer before the upgrade if they have to buy voicemail pro or that we can use the lite version.
It makes a lot of difference.

While HSM and Riddle are correct that it will work; VM lite on Version5 is an unsupported configuration. I suggest that you ensure that both you and your customer understand the ramifications of that, and that you use it to sell them an upgrade to VM pro - which is a superior voicemail system anyway.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Yes I know voicemail Pro ;)
It's a great voicemail system.

I think I know enough. If it's not supported than we are not gonna sell this. We will explain the customer that they need VM Pro

I would offer it as an upgrade path and not force it on them. just explain lite works, but its no longer supported by avaya, and therefore no longer covered under their maintenance agreement.

its a slightly nicer lever don't you think?
