How do you turn off a voicemail light when after you have changed the name in the user menu? I am using an IP Office 500 4.2.11.

Change back the name and clear the mailbox
Then delete the mailbox, rename again and then reboot both the vmlite and the ipoffice

I've run into that problem many times and i finally just recycle the extensions properly each time by setting the current user to hot desking and having them log out of the phone using Shortcode *36. You can give them a login code for hot desking under the users telephony tab in Manager. Then i delete everything in their VM folder assuming you have VoicemailPro. Delete their Account(make sure there aren't any voicemails that are important still in there), then their name and greeting and any other traces of them on the system. Then rename the extension making sure there is no twinned number still in there and reset the voicemail code. Make sure this new user is hot desked and Save config. Afterwards have that user log into the phone using *35*<Ext>*<login code>#. There shouldn't be a voicemail light and shouldn't run into that problem following those steps.
