Hi guys,

I have the following issue, maybe someone have an idea.

The light indicator on my Avaya ip phone 9620 turn on, even there's no messages

I have made some tests, and it appears that even when someone reaching the voicemail, and hang up before the "bip" signaling that you can speak and let your message, the light indicator turn on.

Do you guys got the same problem, or have an solution ?

Thanks by advance.

and it has no messages in it at all? Not even a half a second message? And you have confirmed in the OHV that the MM is turning it on?

Hi Ken

No, there is no messages. As i said in my first post, the light indicator turn on, even if people are leaving the voicemail before the "bip" that confirm that you can leave a message.

Yes i have confirmed the MM turning it on.

Thanks for your help.

If you look in the subscriber options what is flagged to turn the light on ? You may what to try changing it to Voice mail only to see if that has any affect

Hello,

The following options are flagged :

Enable Message Waiting Indicator

Enable Message Waiting Indicator Rule

Voice Messages

Any Importance

That's all i got. I have trying to unflag "MWI Rule", but that doesn't change anything.

When someone reaching the voicemail, if he leave before 4 secondes, the MWI don't turn red. But if he still more than 4 secs, just exactly after the speach "After the tone, please record" there the MWI turn red.

What i don't understand, is how, the MWI can turn on, if i hang up before the "bip" signal.

Anyway, many thanks for your help Ken, i really apreciat it.

Regards.

i am not sure how this can happen if the mailbox has no message in it. And i assume that the MM is the only voice-mail system hooked-up right?
