Hi All,

On one of our customers systems when you press the message button to retrieve a Mailbox message you have to go through 3 key presses to get to voicemail?

You press the message button, you then get prompted for a call back message and then you have to confirm.

Any suggestions as to why it might be doing this?

Many Thanks for your assistance.

Are the first and last of the your Voicemail ports in the hunt group?

Ports 1-18 are in the hunt group and my lamps clear normally etc. The last 2 ports are being used as rads. I have changed this and the same happens?

Are you lifting the handset before pressing the MWI key?

Am I correct in saying that you are using the last 2 ports as RADS. Voicemail uses the last 2 ports for MWI signalling and should never be used as RAD ports or removed from the voicemail hunt group.

The symptom you describe is normal for a user pressing the Envelope Key without lifting the handset. When you lift the handset and press the key it will dial directly.

Hi Voipin yes you are correct the last vm ports should not be used for Rads as these are the MWI ports they need to be in the hunt group so that when you press the envelope key it takes you in to the VM hunt group.

The MWI key only takes you into voicemail when the handset is lifted otherwise it gives you other options as to who to call back to or if enabled erase message.

HI, That does work but it is not the same on all site. Some customers when you press the button it does go straight to voicemail?

There must be a condition that is changing the phone to display the call message?

Thanks for your assistance so far.

should be the same at all sites if the voicemails are setup the same.

There may be no i in team but there are three f's in fudge off.

Phone sets with softkeys, 5224, 5220, 5340, etc will display the options. Phone sets without softkeys, 5215, 5212 will not.

Did you go off hook or hands free?

All phones off hook should go to voicemail with no options displayed.

The handset is on hook when pressing the voicemail button. We only have 2 sites that do not go straight to voicemail when the button is pressed. Our own and a customer. There must be something that effects this setup?

What type of phones are having this problem on hook?

With these types of sets I do not understand how you are getting the option prompts on hook, as they do not have the function keys under the display.

You will only get this with 5220, 5224, 5324, 5330 & 5340 sets as they have either fixed keys or softkeys.

If i press it on the 5212 it displays:

Call Voicemail
#=Call

Any thoughts?

You could check to see if the voice mail softkey option is enabled on the CoS of the phones
