Just looking to see if anyone recognizes this issue. User has a 9508 phone. If he picks up the handset and dials 300 to enter his voicemail everything works normally. He's prompted for extension, password, then the system will tell him if he has any messages. However, if he hit's speaks and dials 300. He's prompted for extension, password, but then immediately after the system asks him to record a message? Anyone have any idea what this is?

Thanks.

Can I ask why they are dialing 300 instead of pressing the message button?

did he record the name for the mailbox and what is "speaks" ??

Same thing happens when the message button is pressed. There's a prompt asking to record a message. Not like a state your name message either. The voicemail only works if he picks up the receiver then dials 300. Haven't tried hitting the message button with the receiver lifted yet.

speaks = speaker button sorry

Can't say I've seen such a behaviour before, but it sounds like he's punching in a different extn number than what he's calling from.
(Or the config is broken).

Can you share any more details on the setup?

Kind regards

Gunnar

dial *17 instead (if it is still the default), it might be that your new shortcode is faulty
