I have a new install of a Partner R7 with the full voicemail system

I have set everything up properly (I think).

I am unable to dial into the 0 mailbox to program the Auto Attendants.

I am doing this from extension 10.

It says "You can not get your messages now because your mailbox is already in use"

Does anyone have any ideas? I have assigned lines 1-5 to the AA 1.

Please let me know if any other information is needed and Thanks!!!

Could you list, going from left to right, the modules that make up the telephone system?

Check to make sure you have the correct ports assigned to Hunt Group #7.

To access the voicemail, assuming it is an Avaya Partner Messaging or a Partner Voice Messaging, the sequence should be "INTERCOM 777, 0, #, [password]".

If the voicemail is a Partner Mail VS, the Admin Mailbox is "99".

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

TTT has an excellent idea [bigsmile]

I have cycled the power. It didn't change anything.

From left to right it is a 308EC, Voicemail Mod, Main Unit.

I have assigned extensions 27/28 to the hunt group 7.

I have diealed intercom 777 and hit 0# and entered the password. That is when I hear the message.

I have also made sure that the 2 port card is in tightly.

Unless my counting is slightly off, shouldn't ports 28 & 29 be assigned to Hunt Group #7? [ponder]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Oops, never mind. I mis-counted. [purpleface]

If you are getting the log-in prompt "Welcome to Partner Messaging. Please enter extension and # sign", the ports are assigned properly. "You cannot get your messages now because your mailbox is already in use" indicates a login to the mailbox that didn't disconnect. Do you have the LAN port connected, a the GUI launched on a machine? A connection to the serial port? Normally a power cycle would have knocked those connections down, as well as any multiple logins.

Are you longed into the partner messaging from your computer? You cannot be loged in both ways at the same time. That is the only what I have hear that message in the past.

I think it was being logged in on the computer that was causing the issue.

I am going on site tomorrow. I will give it a try without the computer logged in.

I will post an update.

Thanks!!

this happened to me, and the solution was said by sandman1969: i needed to first close the PC administration software. Thanks guys.
