Voicemail forwarding - clipped messages

We recently installed an Avaya IP Office 500V2 with embedded voicemail for one of our customers. The customer is experiencing an unusual issue -- at random times when they forward a voicemail from one mailbox to another, the message, while perfectly normal when they first listened to it, is "clipped" at the beginning when played back from the mailbox the message was forwarded to.

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

It has been addressed a bunch on this site. No fix yet, although maybe the R9.1.500 that just came out will fix it. FYI, If you listen to the whole message before forwarding the call it will go through without clipping it. Also, if you switched to Intuity mode it will fix it.

Our customer claims that this issue has occurred when forwarding after listening to the entire message. They may be mistaken, but that is what they have conveyed to us.

What exactly does switching to "Intuity mode" change? The help menu has the following nonsensical information regarding Voicemail Mode:

Voicemail Mode: Default = IP Office Mode. Embedded Voicemail on IP500 V2 systems can use either IP Office Mode or Intuity Mode key presses for mailbox functions. End users should be provided with the appropriate mailbox user guide for the mode selected. IP500 V2 systems use IP Office Mode only. You can switch between modes without losing user data, such as passwords, greetings, or messages.

The above states both that IP500 V2 systems "can use either IP Office Mode or Intuity Mode" but also "IP500 V2 systems use IP Office Mode only!"

How about some proof reading Avaya! [sad]

I can say that 9.1.3 uses both Intuity and IPO mode. I lost a client over this issue. Wish I had known about the mode as a fix. Has it been verified?

I forgot to add you also need to add a header to the forward in order for it to not clip it. So, listen to the whole message and record a header and that did it for my client.

I ended up convincing my client to use voicemail to email so now it is not an issue. They get the email and can forward that email on to whoever they like. Much easier.

I am adding an IPOSS with every quote now. That way Avaya has to fix the problem. My ABP told me that is why Avaya did not fix the issue because nobody with an IPOSS filed a ticket.

I had a customer that had that problem and I
- recreated the SD card - no joy
- replaced the SD card - no good either
- replaced the chassis and that solved the problem

I guess the card reader in the IPO500V2 was a bit temperamental

It also had choppy audio when calling the vm intermittently which made me think it may have to do with the SD card or the reader.

You've got to be kidding me....So, after replacing the chassis, voicemail forwarding would work without using any of the workarounds described above?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but our customer has just indicated that the voicemail attached to the email may be getting clipped as well. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you.

Yes. The only fix will come when somebody with an IPOSS files a ticket otherwise Avaya will not address the problem. So far apparently, nobody with an IPOSS has.
