I have upgraded to Voicemail 5.0.21 which appears to be working ok. However, I have a configured call flow which asks the user to input a code followed by hash, if correct it should then transfer to an extension. This isn't working. The part that is failing is the "Test Variable". Under specific, the variable to match is $Key and the specific code is 1234#.

Is this configured correctly? If I remove this part and simply transfer the call without requiring a code it works. All i want is for a caller to be prompted for a code, they type the code then it transfers, if the code is incorrect, it replays the message asking for a code.

I cant see how this has changed since the upgrade.

Thanks

Kev

What Action is being used to collect the code?

Have you tried testing against '1234'. It is possible the action carrying out the collect is using the '#' to stop collecting digits, and is not including it in the digits entered.

How do you mean "Action"?. the call flow has a "start point" which plays the greeting requesting the code, then it has a "test variable" which is configured to match a specific code: Variable to match = $Key, Parameter to test the variable against = Specific with a code 1234#, then the final part is "transfer" which sets the extn to transfer to.

Thanks for your response

You need an "action" to collect the code such as a menu with ????, putting a prompt in the start point asking for digits is not enough :)

surely this is what the "Test Variable" part is doing? This setup was working fine in version 4, its only stopped working since the version 5 upgrade

The 'Test Variable' action collects the digits only if the selected variable is $KEY, it'll wait the timeout period for the user to enter the digits and expects '#' to terminate the input. If this was working in 4, could be a breakage in 5, though I would also carry out the test without the '#'. Without access to a system today so can't verify :-(.

I have found that in some of the upgrades you need to remove and then add your test variable back in. also is the greeting played from the test variable or in another action. you want the recording asking for pin and # to be played in the test variable.

this is all working again now. I re-created the test variable. when upgraded the selected variable was set to $var, so the only change I have made is to make it $key.

Thanks for all your help.
