I have a one man office that I would like to have an auto attendant feature and voicemail. If I am on my main phone..it should send the caller to voicemail. Ideally it would show the caller id of the incoming call so I could have the choice of interupting my present call and picking up that call. Is there a phone with these features or a small system that I could connect to a few phones? I have read about the "voice pro" but the lack of support has me concerned.

The VoicePro company went belly up a looooooong time ago, I use the TalkSwitch in one office of the same type as yours and it works great....

You local telco may be able to offer you the features you need. Which could be less expensive and less hassle.

Buy a nice cordless telephone with a built in answering machine and caller id/call waiting id. It will be easy for you to setup and won't break the bank.

You may be interested in my configuration.

I have a multi extension mailbox from the phone company. I have paging set up on one mailbox which is labeled as the urgent message option.

I also have FSK - Visual message waiting indicator, caller ID and Call Waiting Caller ID from the phone company.

The analog set I have is a feature set from Radio Shack that is compatible with the FSK Message waiting, and the flash key supports the call waiting caller ID.

I also looked into Voice Pro and chose the telco service instead. Many of the features come as a bundle so it is relatively inexpensive.

I suggest that you Buy a Voice Pro unit it is the best thing out. for the money $. By the way Voice Logic did go out of Bussiness, But are now being imported and supported by a new Co. in Grand Rapids, MI. Called American Business Communications they have been in Business for a Loooong Time, email amerbiz.com contact someone by the name of Galen Walter. He is the best when it comes to the Voice Pro Units.

I have a 1872 Lucent answering machine for home use. It doesn't have caller id but there are similiar cheap consumer phones that do. Mine has two lines input available. If u have the first line rollover to the sencond then u can check with the caller id to see if u want to pick it up. I actually don't use the sencond line, I just pay the phone company to forward my calls to my cell phone, it costs me $2.00. Then I just look at the cell phone caller id to see if I want to take the call.
The answering machine as capability for more than one mailbox, so i have this set up for a auto attdt like menu, it even has a priority function that will send the call on though if people know the code.
The other option is something like Ringcentral, a PC based system that U can set up autoattd.
