Hi, i've got a site setting up a 2nd site with a VPN tunnel between both, they are going to put a Small office IP401 with v4.2 at each end, i can remember if they need a voice networking licence,, if not then once setup, just need the advanced networking IPO LIC ADVANCED
NTWKG 202966 to get hot desking, shared huntgroups etc etc

do they need this licence at both ip401's and if so, is it still available? IPO LIC ADVANCED NTWKG 202966

thanks in advance

The IP400 range do not need voice networking licenses as this is default.
From 5.0 and up there is no advanced networking needed but the SOE cannot go that high.
I wonder if this license still can be bought.
If you really need the advanced stuff you better buy new hardware but then you do need the SCN licenses (voice networking)
How many phones are you going to have on the two sites?
A SOE has a limit of (from the top of my head) 28 phones.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Hey ya, fast reply, they don't need to go any higher than 4.2

They will be only running 6 local phones at each site, total 12
They were just after hot desking etc and presence on phone manager

Cheers

You cannot get the advanced networking licences anymore though :)

Then you better get old 56xx phones and connect them by a VPN tunnel from the other site.
Mind that there are two types of SOE, 1 with 3 VCM channels and one with 16 VCM channels!

Or you try and find license dongle on eBay that has them and hope you can move them to a new dongle. Has to be a new USB dongle as the don't like taking licenses and putting them on a dongle that bass already licenses on it.
