Hi everyone:

As of late, we've been getting complaints that our voice mail greetings are too faint on the phone. I tried recording a message with a few different phones, and they're not super quiet, but quieter than they probably should be. It doesn't help that many of our people calling in are hard of hearing as well! Is there as way (other than using a megaphone into the phone's speaker) to increase the volume on the recordings?

Thanks for the help!

You can download the Greetings to your PC and load them into a Audio program to raise or lower the volume level. Then re-upload them back into the UCx. It works, we have done it.

Asterisk allows a gain adjustment for all voicemail sessions. It looks like UCx has a GUI control for adjusting the gain for incoming voicemails (PBX - Voicemail Settings - Dialplan Behavior - Voicemail Recording Gain), but not for user voicemail sessions (i.e., greetings, names). You should consider opening a ticket with E-MetroTel support - they might tell you how to increase the gain for user sessions.
