Partner ACS R3 and Partner Mail VS R4. Outside calls are being transferred to voicemail but no messages are being recorded and message light doesn't come on. Intercom calls are being transferred to voicemail and messages are being recorded and message light comes on. Inside calls from one line to another line are being transferred to voicemail and messages are being recorded and message light comes on. It was working fine until I added a mailbox.

If this is happening to just 1 voicemail box, try deleting and rebuilding it.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

This problem is happening to every voicemail box. I deleted some and then added them back but the problem persists.

When an outside caller transfers to a voicemail box and tries to record a message, what happens (for example...voicemail plays a message saying calls can't be recorded and disconnects the call...etc)?

This is a huge shot in the dark, but check the ports assigned to Hunt Group #7 to make sure they are correct.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

The outside caller is transfered to voicemail and is prompted to leave a message after the tone and told to hang up. The two ports (42 and 43) are assigned to Hunt Group #7 and I programmed a button to verify. Modules are 308, 206, ACS, 206, and VM.

The ports appear to be correct. Does the caller hear the command to hang up the phone right after hearing the beep (they don't get the chance to say anything) or does the voicemail allow the person to speak?

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

The voicemail allows the person to speak.

I can't remember seeing this sort of problem before.

Try backing up the processor programming and, if possible, the voicemail's configuration, power down the system, unseat the voicemail module, reseat it, power up the system and see if that makes any difference.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

If this only happens from an outside call thru an auto attendant( if you know your party's ext number etc) check your selector codes settings for direct ext transfer.

Make sure that the vm boxes are set to record mode and not answer only mode.

I took out the vm module and put it back in but it didn't help. Auto attendant is not used. I don't know how to make sure vm boxes are set to record mode. Can anyone please tell me how to do it using acs r3 and vs mail r4?

1-How are the calls being answered from the outside?
2-how are they being transferred to voice mail? if it works internally it should work with transferred calls unless someone is not transferring correctly?
Answer 1 and 2 above may get a better answer.
If all you did was add a mailbox, I assume (hate using that word)you removed it and still doesn't work?
VS4 doesn't give you an option to answer only or record if my memory is still good.

Receptionist answers all outside calls. Feature 14 + extension number to send directly into voice mail. This problem occurs to all the extensions. I removed the mailbox I added and the problems still occurs.
