Voice Mail Pro and License Key 1

During upgrade of IPO 403 (from 2.0 to 2.1), the license key seems to have stopped working and I cannot get the license key server to provide the key again so I can paste it into IPO. I don't have a backup of the IPO system that contains the key and I unfortunately didn't paste the encrypted value into a file to save.

How do I get the value now?

Here's what I've tried:

1. Re-installed the key server, so now, key server turns red when the dongle is attached to the key server pc... this is supposed to be a good sign.

2. Un-installed Voice Mail Pro and Re-installed it to see if it would recognize the key.

3. Rebooted the IPO system

Is the dongle a one time use device?

 

Did you install the Sentinel dongle drivers?
Download Sentinal medic and test your dongle, you can get it from : ftp://anonftp.rainbow.com/support/SuperproMedic.exe

Did you do a trace with the Monitor tool?
Set only the Interface packets in and out and you can see if the Licensekey server talks with the IPO.

Try another PC as a dongle server, specially if the VM Pro is 2.1(10), i had an issue with that. The VM Pro hung if there were no calls for a period longer than 24 hours.
 
I did download the test for the dongle and it passed.

Ran the trace and the two devices seem to be speaking to one another.

VM Pro is 2.1(5)

any other suggestions?
 
Try another PC is my last option, do you have other licenses for software?
 
Only have VM Pro license... Do I have to install the entire admin package on another pc to get the license key server installed or can I just install the license key server?

What is the key number?
 
If yoy need the key right now contact your distributor and they should be able to give it to you, if tomorrow is ok then give me the number you can see if you click on the red dongle icon and ill get your key tomorrow, it's bed time for me.
 
Key number is 4024948.

I tried installing the key server on another pc and had the same problem...

That number didnt return any results on the emea site, must be a hot dongle

I purchased the VM Pro from a different vendor than I used for the IP Office. I've since found out the vendor I used for the IP Office never registered the system with Avaya... now the second vendor cannot register the VM Pro until I get the first one to get a sold to number for the IP Office.

I'm working on that but my customer is extremely unhappy because the voice mail is shutting down every two hours.

 
if you upgrade,the key couldn't change.

maybe your key broken.
 
As i read your question:

When you pull the config from the IPO, you don't have the keys listed under "License"?!?

If that is the case, you'll have to get the key(s) from your provider. Avaya should be able to trace the key(s) in their system.

The keys are stored in the config in the IPO, not in the dongle, or on the key-server PC.

No licenses for this serial number.

It is impossible that the VM Pro did work before the upgrade since there has never been a license on this dongle.

If customer only uses voice Mail boxes, install the VM Lite form manager CD, this does not need any license.
There is no way to run the VM Pro without a valid license.

Thanks for the assistance. Just wanted to post the resolution to this issue...

The company that I ordered the VM Pro from has never had a situation where they didn't do the install. Their technicians know that they need to redeem the certificate for a license key. That information never got relayed to me. I finally was provided with instructions for redeeming the cert and getting the license key and I'm now up and running.
