How do I set the system to go directly to the extension's voicemail when the DND (do not disturb) is on, rather than it bouncing back to the main recording or switchboard.

Normally you will have to program some paramters in your PBX (Telephone Exchange). Voice mail system normally are sub-systems to a PBX, so often the voice mail system are just answering the call transferred by the PBX.

It is an Octel Voice Messaging system...and the phones are Meridian.

I have done some research on this and their is nothing in the config notes that say this will not work.

It must be some programming in the Nortel PBX that is doing this but I am not sure where it would be. I can email you the config notes but I always get in trouble asking for someone's email address on the site. I can upload them to the yahoo Octel site if you would like.

It would be helpful to know whether it is an Octel 250/350 or an Octel 200/300 or possibly an Octel 100. The other thing that I am curious about is if you call the extension on a Ring No Answer condition and on a Busy condtion do they go to the mailbox greeting correctly?
