Hey All,

I have a Partner ACS I beleive 6.0 I just installed a new phone into a noisy room I have noticed when I do a intercom +* + extension everything works. When I hang up the extension I called starts ringing.

I have theories but what is going on

Are you sure you are pressing Intercom first? If you lift the handset, it normally selects an outside line. If you then press a programmed button that dials Intercom+*+Ext. No, it will put that line on hold, and when you hang up, it will TRANSFER that line to the other extension.

I'm sure that is it.
Is the only alternative to press programed button then lift the handset?

Thanks for your help.

Ben

pickup the handset, then press the intercom button first (this will disconnect the line and grab internal tone), then the programmed button.

Or, like you said, press the programmed button first, then lift up the handset to avoid grabbing a line first.

Great thank you. I'm trying to eliminate button pushes as much as possible.

Or set the Automatic Line Select to Intercom, Line 1, Line 2, etc.

User will be on Intercom when they lift the handset.
To make an outside call, press a line key or press 9
If they dial on-hook on the speakerphone, they are probably already pressing a line key (instead of Spkr) to get a line before dialing.
