I have an executive and assistant that both have M3904 phones. I set up a key called "voice call" for the assistant to push when she wants to intercom into the boss (it rings once and then she's on the speaker.) A key on his set shows she's calling....and vice versa

Question: how do I program their phones so that either one of them can press the key that the voicecall is coming in on so that they have a two-way hands free conversation?

Hopefully this makes sense and thanks in advance for the help.

i think a dig works in that manner, without the called party having to interact.. i can check if you need.

It's a one way thing. You would have to set up an extension on the assistant's phone and a voice call button on the executive's phone. There would be two button's on each phone dedicated to this. It's an old....very old feature. Back in the Sl-1 days.

You may consider forming a single digit DIG group instead where the executive is DIG 1 voice and the assistance is dig 2. Not quite as easy, but the person then presses the DIG key and then presses 1 or 2 and it connects. Just an idea.

Go into LD 15 and put HVA under the options
handsfree voice call allowed). It is HVD by default.

I just reread your post and you want them to go straight to the speaker so my suggestion isn't a good one after all. A hotline rings until answered. Go with John Poole's suggestion and use voice intercom (not ring intercom).

I tried to setup the dig and when you press the button and say the number 1, it says the line is busy. Does this have something to do with the HVA? If it does, can you post the load 15 commands to get this changed?

Thanks everyone.

How did you configure the key? post it please. and what is your SPRE code (you can find this in customer data block in LD 21)

First:
ld 20
prt
dig
0
dgrp
.....no groups defined

Executive
ld 20
chg
3903
18 6
yes
key 2(for the key on the phone) dig 1 (for group 1)1 (for station #) V

Assistant
ld 20
chg
3904
30 10
yes
key 6 (for key on her phone) dig 1 (for group 1) 2 (for station #) V

Thanks for your help

are these the only two phones in that intercom group? if not, maybe someone else was already intercomming member 1?

They are the only two.

Also, the SPRE code has nothing listed

And I haven't changed to HVA in ld 15, because I'm not sure of the command.

Thanks sooooo much for your help. I'm struggling through learning this and the assistance is greatly appreciated.

Print your CDB in LD 21. Look for DGRP under FTR gate-opener. What shows next to DGRP? This is how many intercom groups you can set up so make sure it's not set to zero.

can you post the actual keys as they're configured? the printout straight from your PBX?

LD 15
FTR_Data
OPT HVA
That should do it, good luck

The PBX is on another terminal in the server room and doesn't have the capability to shoot it to my computer. Hopefully the following makes sense?

Executive:
Key 00 scr 7688 (his extension)
Key 01 scr 6688 (his rollover)
Key 02 DIG 1 1V

Assistant:
Key 00 scr 6895 (her extension)
Key 01 scr 5895 (her rollover)
Key 02 scr 7688 (another executive)
key 03 scr 6688 (other exec roll)
key 04 scr 7607 (another exec)
key 05 scr 6607 (exec's roll)
key 06 DIG 1 2 V
key 07
key 08 scr 6751 (another assistant)
key 09 scr 5751 (assistant's roll)
key 10 scr 5170 (yet another exec)
key 11 scr 5661 (exec's roll)

I'm at a loss as to why you're getting a busy. You're getting a recording saying the line is busy??

It's working! Thanks sooooo much and have a wonderful weeked (in case you don't hear from me with another problem today.... ;)

well, I didn't do anything, but you're welcome just the same!
