I have currently Ip phones 1120E and 1140E phones on my network and PBX. When people phone out they can hear the person on the other side but the person cannot hear them. I established that it is the MC-32 cards that is giving the problems. I just need to know what version firmware is the latest one and where can I download it and any other ideas of fixing it. Running at the moment cs1000 ver4.5. Only outside calls internally it is working fine.

Have had the same issue with the VGMC cards for over 3 months now on a weekly basis. Constant patches/PEPS from Nortel have done absolutely nothing.
When you have the trouble and run a VGMC Show All in Element Manager, do you see DSP's in RESET mode?
If yes, disable the card, reseat and re-enable it.
We are currently on Succession 3.0 software, so our firmware/software levels will differ for comparison purposes.
Good Luck

With a little looking around you should be atleast to these levels for the cards and firmware for the phones.

4.50.88 on SS/IP card software.

There is some talk about a 4.50.89 but I have not seen the upgrade yet. Might be a question for your vendor.

There is also some issues that you discribe with the 5.0 MC32 cards but that has not been ironed out by Nortel yet either. But since you stated you are 4.5 all information here is related to that.

Holp this helps.

tnphoneman . YES THEY ARE. ON THE LATEST SOFTWARE.

Pudge99: WHERE DO YOU RUN THE VGMC SHOW ALL COMMAND IN ELEMENT MANAGER?

After logging into Element Manager:
SYSTEM STATUS - IP TELEPHONY
NODE ID
VGMC - GEN COMMAND
GROUP - VGW
COMMAND - vgw SHOW ALL
RUN

Double check to see if the VGMC channels on the PBX are in the same Zone as the Phones. And Make sure that the INTRAZONE bandwith is set to BQ and 1000000.

Also if you have an ANALOG route try to make a call out the ANALOG route with an IP Phone, if it does work, then it might be a VGMC / PRI issue.
