Hi

I have a client who is running a IP403 with 2030 handsets.

on version 1.4 they had a button on the display that said voice but now that I have upgraded them to version 2.0 they have lost the voice button.

the VM server is running on version 2.0

they have the "H" source number but this has made no difference.

any ideas.

Thanks

No voice key on the display means that the phone has no voicemail.

either voicmail has been disabled for the user or the IP Office cannot conect to the VM server.

check that VM is running then check the network settings & conection to the VM PC

all users have access to group voice mail but have their own disabled.

even the users that have there own voice mail have lost the button.

The VM server can ping the 403 and it is taking messages.

also I have setup a short code to collect the group voice mail which works.

and I know that there are messages waiting.

the VM server has a static IP and that IP has been put into the 403

just tested on V2.1 - if a phone does not have VM enabled then the Voice key is not displayed - even if a msg is left for the phone or hunt group.

but thats what I'm saying even the users that have voice mail enabled have lost the voice button.

this is driving me nuts!!!!

is 2.1 officialy released yet?

as if it is working for you under 2.1 then I'll just upgrade them.

Thanks

V2.1 is on General release although getting copies of the software has beeen causing problems.

links to download the software have been posted elswere in this forum.

I am still supprsed that you have lost the Voice key on phones with VM enabled, this is not a problem I have witnessed before.
Double check by dialing *18 on the handset this should turn on VM, works every time for me

Thanks for you help

Do you know which is the correct release that I should download as I have seen talk of different build versions

Thanks

2.1(15) Admin CD
2.1(9) User CD

Cheers

VOICE" appears on the 203/2050's when voicemail is running (embedded, lite or pro) - nothing to do with the user "Voicemail on" setting as all users still have a mailbox by default.

The phones do sometimes need a jog, remove power and then reapply to update the display.

Sizebut, this is Incorrect, All users have a mailbox but on V2+ the voice option - does not apear on the phones if VM is disabled (the VMail Option to leave a msg still apears when calling a user).

I'm sure your right, another stealth change. But why, having voicemail off doesn't necessarily mean I don't have messages in my mailbox. It just means I don't want any more.

Hi

I have tried diconnecting the power and all the restatarting and even wipeing it and going backto older versions but this has made no differance they just nolonger display the voice button.

anyways I'm downloading 2.1 from the web now so I'll let you know if this cures the prolem

Thanks for all the help

Michael

I have had this problem before

I think this sloved it

If you have voicemail pro when you installed it the setting when to intuity mode

open voicemail pro
go to administration- preferences- general- change the bottom Tap to IP office.

This should solve the problem haven't been online for a while sorry.

Sorry, but only using VM Lite, standard or what ever it's called

Thanks anyway

Mike, betcha the problem goes away with VMPro installed.

Further info, I have just noticed that the version that I upgraded them to is v2.0(16) where as on the avaya site it says (18), maybe it is a bug in build 16, nevermind only 3% of 2.1 to go

:)

No the "problem" is there with VM Pro, A user with VM not enabled does not have a voice key

Hi just to update you on this

I have updated all the 403's to 2.1(15)

and it still didn't fix the problem untill I switched on VMail for each user.

This seems kind of silly as not all users want there own voice mail, only access to the group mail.

in 1.4 you could do this but avaya now seem to have switched this off. 2.x

anyway thanks for all your help

Michael
