Vodavi Starplus 4896 intermittently restarting on a daily basis. I cannot pinpoint problem. All programming is still saved after restart. The system has dedicated power and sufficient grounding. Sometimes it will go a couple of days without restarting. The system has 1 CO card,2 digital station cards, 1 SLT card. Approx 10 stations active with half using ACD. For the calls using ACD they ring in to SLT Auto-Attendant lines from CO lines then AA send to ACD group. They rest of the lines ring in as line appearances. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Tinker4896:

Is the system randomly rebooting? If calls are in progress and the system restarts does it knock everyone off and the system reboots? You mention dedicated power but are you on a battery backup/UPS? The problem sounds power related like you could have something possibly in the power supply that is starting to fail. Let me know the answers above and we'll try and help further.

Yes, the system is randomly rebooting. It is on a UPS. I guess the power supplies could possibly be going bad (kind of hard to tell). I know that in one particular instance, if you were on a call and the system rebooted and you did not hang up, the call would resume after the system rebooted.

What's the latest news on the 4896? Are you seeing the same patterns or has it crashed on you lately? Just curious as those power problems can be difficult to isolate. Keep us posted on this one!
