My company has a VMX 200 Voice Mail System attached to a Mitel 200 Light PBX. Our predecessors have left no documentation. We have configured our Mitel box but we don't have the expertise to setup a voice mail box for an application to have "Press #1 or Press #2". I am looking for knowledge on how to setup the app on our voice mail system using a distribution list to hit two different hunt groups that are already configured.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank ou Carlos

Hello!

This thread can help you:
thread923-1572619

Press #1 or Press #2" is named Single Digit Menues in the VMX200.
If you want we can help you out.

Doktor,

Thank you for the reply. A bit of off centered question. Our system release is S.3.0.1-2 (10/28/98). The prompts on the weblink are different. Our prompt gives us a . not an @ sign and the L F command to check for our installed functions is not part of our possible feature list. Suggestions. Could we be at a Users Administrative level and not at a full Admins level? Again, apologize ahead of time. We have very limited knowledge of this system and trying to learn it on the go.

If you logon you will be in the @-prompy. Here you can send som maintenance commands like PS and L H.
If you write U for update, you will come to the .-prompt, where you can configure custumer data.
When finished write E for exit, and you will return to the @-prompt.
If you can write PS and get the port status in the @-prompt, you are on the highest password level (maint).

Doktor,

Never mind. I figured it out. We have the SW-40019 installed. Thank God its Friday.

Yes! Without SW-40019, you cannot do Menues in the octel / VMX 200 Voice Mail System...

Doktor,

I was following the thread you posted thread923-1572619: Octel Single Digit Schedule. When we press 1 or 2, the options will lead to a hunt group on our phone system. Will the extensions, which lead to hunt group extensions, by pressing 1 or 2 respectively, have to have voice mail boxes on the system? Basically the design goes like this, DNIS 5044 to mailbox 5044 hits main message voice box and you Press one or two, one goes to hunt group extension 6313--> within the hunt group you hit on a terminal hunt extension ---> 5074 ---> 5061. Two goes to group extension 6314 ---> and does the same thing as pressing one. Is there anything different on that thread that should be changed or will it apply to the entire design?

Thank you

Carlos

Basicly yo can use this thread thread923-1104220: Single-Digit-Menues (AA) for OCTEL 200/300 +VMX100
and this: thread923-1572619: Octel Single Digit Schedule wiil give an idea about schedules.

I use number conversion in the first thread, because the Menu function works with a prefix and then the digit you have pressed.
If you have 3 hunt groups "4711, 4712 and 4713", then the prefix is 471, and the last digit gives the digit pressed after hearing the welcome message.
If the 3 groups are DIFFERENT, then number conversion must be programmed.
So in your example the main DNIS number is 5044.

SDM#1
Press one goes to hunt group extension 6313--> within the hunt group you hit on a terminal hunt extension ---> 5074 ---> 5061.
Your call, after pressing 1, should go to a mailbox e.g.
6661, and number convert to 6313.
The mailbox of 6661 should have a short greeting recorded (just press #, just after beginning your recording.)
This has to be done, otherwise the script will stop, due to attribute "After playing greeting, go to next mailbox".

Two goes to group extension 6314 ---> and does the same thing as pressing one. Is there anything different on that thread that should be changed or will it apply to the entire design?

Your call, after pressing 2, should go to a mailbox e.g.
6662, and number convert to 6313.
The mailbox of 6662 should have a short greeting recorded (just press #, just after beginning your recording.)
This has to be done, otherwise the script will stop, due to attribute "After playing greeting, go to next mailbox".

So your prefix will be 666, and the number of choices should be 2 -> to be set in the INFO table.

No other "things" should be changed.

Doktor,

I can't thank you enough. I wish you had been our tech here on site. I have programmed our VMX 200 with our SX 200 Mitel phone system and it is a very succesful implementation. Do you know anyone on this forum where I could ask a simple question about the SX Mitel 200 hunt groups. We have one small issue where the hunt group terminates back to the hunt group access code/extension voicemail box if it cannot reach the main two extensions within the hunt group. I am researching to find a solution where I can stop the hunting back to the first mailbox within the hunt group or finalize it to a specific voice mail box.

Thank you Carlos

Well I come from Denmark, Europe, and you (I think) are situated far away?.
This forum minimizes distance, so onsite assistance in most cases is not needed.
I do not know Mitel, but maýbe there is a Mitel forum here.
Otherwise try the General Telephony forum here.

I appreciate it Doktor. I have figured it out. I am posting it here in case anyone needs it. The best thing I found out was to create a phantom extension as the last extension in the hunt group and the place a foward (always) on the extension to go to the respective mailbox you want to end on. In the Mitel 200, you go to forms 9, add an extension as a dummy/phantom on a physical port you will not use. Add the extension as the last extension in the respective hunt group, form 17, then go to your, in my case a 1000 Console, hit Function, F2, F4(Stations), Enter your extension, click F2 again to always foward. Enter your extension and your done.

Doktor, you took me out of a tough situation. Thank you so much.

Best wishes...

Carlos
