Guys,

I'm interested in getting started with vMCD. I'm a bit confused about the Licensing. I have a 3300 in my Lab with 7.1 Licence/ARID.

Can I use this Licence or will i need a seperate one to run vMCD. I've got the box ready to go but I dont want to start resetting hardware id's unless I know if I can use this licence.

Also, when the MSL boots it asks for the app record (obviously). Is this a seperate Licence to the vMCD or does this app record do both the MSL & the vMCD and if I had a Licence for the MSL does it populate itself as the app record in the vMCD or would I need to re-enter it or is it a different app record.

Cheers

Steve

You can't use the "normal" ARID to license a vMCD. You can use this license and add a migration to Virtual license and then it can be used for vMCD ONLY !!!!!
When installing the vMCD you come across the console option to add the ARID. I've always skip that and add the ARID in the msl web connection. Yes that ARID is for both.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, how do you go about " You can use this license and add a migration to Virtual license" ? Do you do this on AMC?

it needs to be an enterprise version to convert to vMIVB
yes it needs to be added in amc

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
