VMware and Trend Micro

Hi all,

do you have experiences virtualizing Trend Micro products with VMware as:
- InterScan Messaging Security, an Internet messaging gateway (for Eschange in my case)
- ScanMail Exchange
- ServerProtect OfficeScan, an antivirus solution for desktop

Do you recommend virtualize them ?

I'm running two servers, one with Server Protect and another with OfficeScan 7.3 with no issues at all.

There are 4 areas you need to be concerned with when virtualizing a physical host.

1. CPU not running high utilization
2. RAM not being excessive
3. NIC not being 100% used on gig-E
4. Disk throughput and bandwidth consumption

If you are not running over 25% CPU, the NIC is not being pushed to its limits, and disk I/O not terribly aggressive, then you can possibly virtualize your environment.
