I am having issues with VMPRO usb lic. I have read, and read thru these forms to try to figure this out on my own but I have not come up with a solution yet. I have the feature key server in place and have the red box once I install the usb key. I have updated the drivers... I enter the license in the IP Office 500 version 5.0 and the key seems to be valid because I type in the license key and the license type, instances, & expiry date all auto fill.

The usb serial # 4513304

Is there a way I can verify the serial # to see if it is valid?

All the reading I have done seems like there are alot of problems with USB dongle. One thing that has cought my eye is the lic key information off Avaya's site which was supplied with the usb dongle does have IP400 listed for EConsole... Is there a chance I have purchased a VM PRO dongle for and IP400 or are they interchangeable with IP500.

Thanks for your help in advance...
Brett

Check feature key server pc firewall is not blocking it.

The IP500 uses the card on the back as the license card (the credit card sized slot), not a USB license card. USB is indeed for ip400's.

500's are licenced against the smart card in the system, they can't be licenced against 400 style dongles, neither USB, Serial or Parallel, you need to get the licences transferred :)

Sorry mis read first post thought you were still using ip 400

telecomboy and amriddle01 both gave you the correct answer. :)

Thanks for the info... how would I go about getting the lic. transfered?

Asked your distibutor to transfer old lics to new sd card number.

Although i have seen an IP406V2 with a serial dongle and a parallel dongle on the VMPro server.
Both dongles where working.
But i think this won't work anymore.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

was this system upgraded from an IP4XX series unit?
if not I would a like to know why you have been sold a USB dongle
& if it was an upgrade why the licenses were not transferred.

either way it does not look good for your supplier

Computers are like Air conditioners:-
Both stop working when you open Windows
