Hey everyone! :]

So sometimes you call and once you reach our day/night menu you press an extension and then try to leave that person a voicemail and it works most of the time but sometimes it cuts you off and says "No Message To Send" Immediately after it beeps, and then puts you into our voicemail options. Anyone know why it might be doing this?

Thanks : ]

How is this configured in your VM Pro server? As this is not a standard set of options :)

Well, it does the Day/Night Condition... then lets use the Night Menu as an example... one of the Night Menu options is 8?? (which is our extension range of our phones) which leads an arrow to a Transfer to Extension with a specific destination of $KEY and that's pretty much it. Then it just transfers your call. You hear the Voicemail box of the person... it beeps for you to leave a message for them... then sometimes it cuts you off RIGHT AFTER the beep and says "NO MESSAGE TO SEND"

It doesn't happen that often, it usually works correctly but it's pretty random and annoying lol.

What version of software... Are there t1 or analog trunks? Is it the same users having issues?

# sign recorded in the greeting somewhere or a female voice that has some variations in it so that the Voicemail Pro thinks a button is pressed.
Maybe people press the extension and # to transfer to the mailbox and if you have transfer to mailbox it might be slow enough so it thinks the # key has been pressed after the greeting plays.
Download the greeting and listen to it on you PC,

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Random users/anyones mailbox, it's T1, and its VMPRO version is 3.2 (28)

The .wav file you are listening to is the custom .wav file of that persons mailbox. It happens to everybody's box. For example, "Hi you've reached Jamie in accounting leave me a message" BEEP* *No Message To Send* and it cuts you off mid-leaving a message.

We just re-recorded our night menu greeting anyways with a different person a different phone this morning because we had to, and it still does it so it shouldn't have anything to do with the first greeting I wouldn't think...

Or rather to clarify my above post, it shouldn't have anything to do with the night menu greeting since we just redid it anyways and besides you get past that into their actual mailbox is when it does it.

Do you any user that have the default greeting..( Your call is being answered by IP Office?) does it do it on that??

I am not sure this is the version I had an issue with but I had to have the user record there message and when they were done recording wait 2 to 3 seconds befor they pressed the # key..

Next suggestion is to upgrade..

That's a good question, about half of us use a custom greeting and half use the default. I will try that tomorrow morning and see if it does it.

Also, where do you get an upgrade from version 3.2 (28) and can you even upgrade VMPRO past 3.2 (28) if you are running IP403's with version 3.2 (53) in them? Or how does that work?

You can go to the latest 3.2 with a 403
The latest 3.2 release is 3.2.69

Sweet Thanks, because right now it keeps also freezing the VMPRO services randomely and I've reinstalled it onto two new PC's it didn't make a difference so I want to upgrade the software anyway for example it went 3 days just fine. Then it froze, then it went 7 hours and froze and I have to restart the voicemail pro DB service and VMPRO service and then it keeps working again. The licenses are fine. The services keep hanging up, then it just says "DISCONNECTED" when you dial *17. Or if you call in our menu's won't work. Not sure why it's doing this....

Do you know where you can get/download 3.2.69 to try it? Is it on Avaya's site?

Sweet, Thanks :] Lets give this a try and I will try calling the two different types of voicemail box (default/custom) to see about the original problem tomorrow morning he he.

Woot! NYSTECH was totally right, for some dumb reason certain custom greetings were causing the problem. I switched it over to a default greeting and it worked fine. It must be the delay at the end (not allowing 2-3 extra seconds before hitting # while recording)

I upgraded the VMPRO software so I'm also waiting to see if the PC's VMPRO services freeze again, sometimes it takes a day or two and then the services stop working. It's totally random so we'll see...

Thanks! :]
