Hi, newbie here so apologies if this has already been asnwered. I did search but couldn't find anything.

Got a new 406v2 installed in our new offices. Having some issues with VMPro.

all runs fine for a day or so, then whenever anyone external dials main switchboard they get a "Please enter your mailbox number" message. I disable VM on the phone switch and reboot, incoming calls are fine. reboot VM Server (2000 server) and it works again for a day or so.

DDI numbers work fine though.

I'm running version 3.0.59 on the switch and whatever software would have come with that defo version 3. not sure of minor version numbers.

Anything Stupid I'm missing before my boss loses it and rips the whole thing out!!??!

Thanks in advance,

Noel

Have you consulted the vendor that installed? If it's new, I'm sure they would be happy to assist. If calls come via an auto attend, the trouble is probably in how the menu is built - that's where I'd look first.

I actually installed this system, we're evaluating whether to sell these systems or not, so we are trying one in-house.

If you hadn't noticed I'm also a newbie on phone systems, Networking is fine, but new to phones!

Thanks for coming back so quickly though!

While the problem is occuring are calls supposed to be going to an Auto-Attend or to the live person??

is there anything on your switchboard that is pushing the calls to VM?? like a DND or CallForward?

Check the incoming call routes in the IP Office config.

The action you're hearing implies that one of them has its Fallback Destination set to Voicemail. (or possibly the NightService Destination).

The Voicemail option is for remote mailbox access, not to take a message.

If that is the case, apart from changing the fallback destination, you need to work out why the system starts to see the receptionist as permanently busy.

Hi sizbut,

Thanks for your response, it looks like that may be it.

I had the night service destination set to voicemail for some reason.
