Hello ...

I have a Problem Connectivity between Avaya IPO500v2 8.1 (43) and VMPro (8.1).
The License Installed is: R8+ Preferred Edition (VM Pro)
The VMPro Installed on Windows 7
Here is the Problems in details:

1. The VMPro is Connected online to the IPO
2. After complete configure VMPro Module, and try to test it using live playing it to Extn, I face the f0llowing error:
- for first time its working properly
- for second test, the voice either working but not completed, working but silence, ringing the phone then disconnected, or some
times shows that "extension not available".
on the phone which I playing a VM to it for tested, I noted that the first button is hanging (VM:INVITE), also on VMPro when I
press the paly icon some times hanging.
3. when I dial the voicemail shortcode or Mailbox Shortcode (*17), nothing disconnected.
4. when Press the Message button on the phone shows that (Voicemail not running)
5. The error logged in System status is: "The following system resources are al in use: Voicemail Channels"
In System Status - Voicemail, the licence is seen and showing 0 in use.

The Windows firewall is turnned off, there is no Antivirus, I test this on many server (windows 7, Windowa Server 2008, Windowa Server 2003), all tests is the same as above.
On the system status I noted also the following alarms:
"Voicemail Pro/Lite fails to connect to the Control Unit, Incorrect password.
PC IP Address: 192.168.1.251"
the VMPro software is installed correctly in the server and I type the username and passwprd of the server during instaaltion and the VMPro is login with no failure login, so I'm wondering this alarms.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Regards.

I think I know what's going on here.

Every time you reboot the IPO, restart the VMPro service or LAN connection is restored, you are "rewarded" 2 hour free Voicemail Pro.

When those 2 hours are up, your system shuts down the connection.

Check if you have a valid Preffered + Essential edition license

Kind regards

Gunnar

And it would not hurt to upgrade to R8.1.85 or the latest R8.1.10x (the 8.1.9x had faulty VMPro features)

Kind regards

Gunnar

Hi Dear Gunnaro ...

yse of course, I have Essential Edition license, and its Valid, and R8+ Preferred Edition (VM Pro)license and its Valid.

Best Regards.

Hello Gunnaro ..

I will do it and updates you, Is there any thing I can do maybe will solve this problem?

Thanks.

Could be your network - traffic through the roof, poor cabling, switch (port) failing.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Hello Gunnaro ...

I hope the Upgrade will solve if there a bug in software.

Thanks.

Can't guarantee anything, I've no psychic abilities [smile]

You have so many different warnings, to me it looks like almost anything could be failing.
You swapped VMPro server, so that's probably not the fault. But your phones "hang", that could be network or failing IPO.

Kind regards

Gunnar

If this fixes it, find Amriddle and give him a star.

Hi All ,,,

Thank you for all your support, I've done all you recommend but nothing change.
for that I bring another IP Office and another switch and test it seperated from the customer network, the Voicemail Pro is working and no errors occurs on the SSA, return back the Customer IP Office to the same switch, the problems return back with the same description above, now Iam sure that the problem from the IP Office.
My Question, if I change the Control Unit with the same SD Card and license this will work or not or I must change the SD card and re-install the license on it with the same control unit, sorry if I dummy, but I mean is the voicemail Pro take the channels resources from the Control Unit or from the SD Card.

Thanks in Advance.

YOU should check VMPRO logs what causes the disconnect. Perhaps you have to increase the debugging level first.

You can move the SD, all licenses are tied to the card, except for the virtual ones.

But how can you be so sure it's not the network?
(You made a separate network for the test.)
How about putting the test system on the customer network and see what happens then.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Hi
I am not really sure about this as I don't have much experience on VMPro.

"Voicemail Pro/Lite fails to connect to the Control Unit, Incorrect password.
PC IP Address: 192.168.1.251"
the VMPro software is installed correctly in the server and I type the username and passwprd of the server during instaaltion and the VMPro is login with no failure login, so I'm wondering this alarms."

Have you checked the security settings- voicemail pro- password
There are 3 passwords here and the second password is for the voicemail pro.

Make sure this is the same.

It mentions this in the help files relating to this link error in SSA.

That would have been my first guess too, but OP stated that it works sometimes, other times not.

OP said:
- for first time its working properly
- for second test, the voice either working but not completed, working but silence, ringing the phone then disconnected, or some times shows that "extension not available".

Maybe there is more than one VMPro server on the network and the setting on the IPO is 4x 255?

Kind regards

Gunnar

It was just a guess.

As I said I don't really do that much on vmpro..
I think I have only installed 2.
It's been that long...

I like to cream off any info I can

Hi Mr. Gunnaro,

As I said previous, I take a new IPO and switch, and make a test directly to my laptop, and the flow works correctly with nor errors or problems. (play directly to Extn. or via shortcodes), the VMPro never disconnected.
The second test is to connect the customer IPO direct to my switch and test again, the VMPro is installed on my laptop, on this test the errors return and all the problem description listed above is return. (on this test I seprate the the customer IPO from their network)
Unfortiontly I dont put a test system to the customer network.
but from this test we guess that the problems is from IPO not from the networks.
my question is if I move the SD card with the license installed on it to new IPO control unit, is this will make differece ?
exactly I dont know if the resources from the VM coming from IPO or from SD card.

Thanks for your efforts.

Run a -t ping trace while all these events occur to the IPO and the VMPRO server.

Wireshark will also be your friend here. If you don't know how to use it, now is a good time.
Sounds like an IP routing issue. What switch are they using? Can you connect the IPO to the VMPRo server using a dumb switch/hub to prove the switch?

You lose, Carl Miller.

Hi Sir,

from my test I'm sure that the problem is in the customer IPO. Now how can I solve it, changing the control unit with the same SD card or move to a new SD card and keep the Control Unit.
So please I need an Advice on this ?

Thanks.

Move the card.

Kind regards

Gunnar
