I recently upgraded firmware on our IP406 to 4.1 and upgraded the VoicemailPro software to the same.

Everything works as it should, but several times a day, voicemail will stop working. Even dialing *17 gets you the NUMBER BUSY message with a busy signal.

If I restart the Voicemail Pro Service, (which is still running, btw) it starts working again. The server uses the USB dongle key and it has not moved from its original location. If there is some strange new licensing authority, I am not aware of it.

Did you upgrade the vmpro with the dongle still in the server ?

If it stops working every 2 hours it's a license issue.
VMPro will work for to hours with no license.
Check the manager if the licenses are valid.
Check the dialog screen when starting the VMPro service (with interact with desktop ticket). Immediately click on 'run' and in the first few lines there should be some message what's licensed and what not.
Even SSA could be usefull.

I do not specifically remember the keyserv being included in the install. Would that be part of the IPO install as opposed to the VMPro install?

And yes, the dongle was in whilst doing the upgrade. (uninstall old / install new)

In looking at the install options of IPO, Feature Key Server is X'ed out. Is that what I need to install?

(Thanks, btw)

Unplug the USB dongle

Stop teh Keyserver service
Reboot PC

Run admin installer (either from CD or Add/remove programs)

Select modify and select keyserver (leave all other options as they were)

allow install to complete

Reboot pc

wait until logged in and ready

Insert USB dongle - ensure that task tray icon goes from red X to orange /red dongle icon

reboot IP Office to force all licences valid

Doenlopad config from unit to check licences are ok

Take Care

Thanks for your help(s).

I re-installed, and rebooted, saw the red X, plugged the dongle and it went away. Now I'm just waiting for these silly business-conscious people to get off the phone so I can reboot the IPO. I feel as though this will work though, so I give my thanks to a case well closed.

Just reboot it
Say you check "when free"but it must be broken in this release :)

Quick one! this isn't a vista machine is it? - there is a patch on the admin cd for the sentinel dongle driver - but only for vista
