In most auto attendants on the main menu we will have a 2?? option for "If you know your parties extension..." leading to an assisted transfer using the $KEY variable. This works fine if the caller dials a valid extension, but if they dial a 2xx extension that is not on the system the call is immediately dropped when vmpro tries to transfer.
I believe there is a way to reroute the call back to the main auto attendant instead of dropping it, but i cant get it to work.
In the vmpro help file I've found a small mention of this in Contents>Routing Calls to Voicemail>Example Call Flow. At the very bottom of the example it says this:
"A further suggestion is to provide a system short code to deal callers who dial an invalid extension number. For our example above, a short code 2??/./"SelfSelect"/VoicemailCollect would reroute such callers back to the SelfSelect module. "
^^This seems like exactly what I'm looking for, but I think there are a couple of typos here and I must be missing something because its not working for me.
My short code:
Code: 2??
Feat: Voicemail Collect
Num: "mainAA"
I'm running firmware ver 3.2(54) and VMPro ver 3.2(28)
Thanks y'all, any input is welcome.
