hey all,

according to the Dial By Name Action documention in VMPRO "If the caller does not make a selection, the False result connection is used." Is there any way to program VMPRO so that when the user enters an "invalid" name the action will route to something other than itself again?

thanks ahead of time...

I haven't tried, but I would imagine you could just drop in a connector from FALSE to say the receptionists extension (ie dial ext).

Razillian,

Thanks for the reply. I have been able to direct the FALSE connection to a hunt group, operator, or extension however, when the user enters a "valid" or "invalid" name the TRUE connection is used.

When the name is valid the transfer takes place to the appropriate person. When the name is invalid the Dial By Name Action repeats itself. If a caller continues to enter an invalid name the action continues to repeat.

We would rather program the action to be able to cascade, in other words: if the name entered more than twice is invalid another option could be specified. Unfortunately, an invalid name does not = FALSE.
