On a new installation, I am having a problem that when you try and put in the spoken name in the mailbox for the first time, the VMPro don't seem to hear the name. It continually keeps asking to try again.
I have tried raising and lowering my voice to see if it makes a difference. It doesn't.
Any help would be appricicated.

Thanks,
Joe

It should be at least 3 seconds long.
Had one site where it refused to record, ended up using the mc_01 prompt since they didn't what to use the names feature anyway.

I tried it and you are right. Who has a three second name. What was Avaya thinking?
I wonder it if there is a setting to change it.

Their is a V-mail pro patch from avaya for this.

What version of Firmware are you running, I may have the patch here.

You can change a reg key for this.

In Hkey local machine/software/network alchemy/directories

you have a minimum message length key, reduce to from 3000 to 500 or something.

The registry setting seems to have worked for me.

anyone come across the bug where even with registry lowered the voicemail does not record the 1st 2 seconds of the name?

Yeah I did, then used the patch and this resolved.
The only thing I would say is may be worth a PC reboot once the settings have been modified in registry.
