VMPRO callback from voicemail

According to the knowledgebase from avaya, callback from voicemail is supported in intuity mode if you hit 1 and then 0 after listening to the message...provided that caller id is available. I'm a little confused on whether or not this is still a supported function as it dosen't appear to work on a customer's system (running 4.1(15)). I've heard it was only supported for internal calls, and even that was broken after 4.0 came out...I just want to verify that it's no longer supported/working.
 
Calling the Message Sender
If the message was sent from an internal number you can call the sender. The call needs to be from another
extension or if the caller's internal CLI is known (played in the message header) it may be possible to call them
back....from the user guide, so no you can't call outside the system.
