Hi All,

Upgraded IPO500v2 to 11.0.4.3 plus Windows VM and took the opportunity to install App Server to support VM on Virtual machine.
All looked good and no issues (so I thought) but it has come to light that no new voicemails are able to be left. I have in the short term reverted back to the Windows VM and all ok.
The issue is something to do with the app server as no problems when using the Windows VM (ie IP Office settings all ok)
Guess something to do with possible write permissons when a voicemail is being left? Has anyone else come across this. On setting up the apps sever did copy Accounts, Wavs, Name and Greetings folders over and the AutoAttendant is working and playing correct messgaes just unable to leave messages for any user.
As site works when using Windows machine I will be looking at this agin on Thursday.
Steps already taken
Checked Source code for the users - all ok
Trying to leave message in correct mailbox
Re-strated VM service on apps server
Re-Booted app server

Thanks in advance

How did you copy the Accounts, Wavs, Names, and Greeting folders, and how did you assign permissions?

If you used WinSCP, copy them to the /home/Administrator folder, use PuTTY to ssh into the system and drop to root. Change the ownership of each folder in /home/Administrator and its contents to vmpro:vvmpro, then move to the /opt/Vmpro directory.

Hi TouchToneTommy are you referencing
Details

Customer has a vmpro.vmp backup file on a windows PC that they would like restore to the VMPro running on the Application Server. The *.vmp file must be copied to the /opt/vmpro/ directory on the Application Server. Using WinSCP, you are only able to log in via the webcontrol user and this user doesn't have permissions to copy files to and from the required /opt/vmpro/ directory.
Problem Clarification

unsure how to copy files to the correct directories on the Application Server.
Cause

The IP Office Application Server Installation and Maintenance guide provides some instructions but also seems to assume you have a basic understanding of commands used in the Linux operating system.
Solution

Using WinSCP we logged into the Application Server as the webcontrol user. We then transferred the vmpro.vmp file to a directory that allowed the webcontrol user access. In this case it was the default log in directory of /home/webcontrol/.

We then logged out of WinSCP. Open a ssh client such as PuTTY and connect to the Application Server using the webcontrol user name and password. once logged in you will need to switch users to admin and then to root. Once logged in as the root will need to navigate to the directory containing the vmpro.vmp file. Enter:
cd /home/web/
From here we moved the file to the required location:
mv /home/web/vmpro.vmp /opt/vmpro/ (enter)
Once the file was moved we needed to change ownership and permission on the file"
chown 0755 /opt/vmpro/vmpro.vmp
chmod root:root /opt/vmpro/vmpro.vmp

Now that the vmpro.vmp file is in the correct directory /opt/vmpro/ and the file permissions are set correctly, the file can be used in the VMPRO restore process.

Got you, you did a backup and restore which is one way to move the VMPro instance to the new VM App Server.

For fun, use WinSCP to connect, go to /opt/vmpro, right click on the Accounts folder then Properties and see who the owner is, and some of the folders/files withing the Accounts area

Thanks for the posts, got it sorted yesterday it was file owner and permission issue that I needed to resolve. Thanks again
