Hi,

I am trying to use the command mount all and I get this error:

mount: 1831-008 giving up on:
server_name: /config/utils
vmount: A file or directory in the path name does not exist

What does the error mean?
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks! Tracee

Hi,
use 'lsfs -a' to list the configured file systems. One of them is an NFS file system with the 'mount' option set to 'true'.

Edit /etc/filesystems or use smitty to edit it. Either create the directory it's trying to mount over, delete the entry or just make sure it's not mounting automatically.

Thanks for responding,

I did the lsfs -a and this is what i got

name nodename mountpt VFS size auto accounting
/config/utils severname /config/utils nfs -- bg,hard,intr

yes no

does this mean it is mounting automatically...and if i took off the automount, what change would it make.

Thanks!
