vMIVB vs ISS

Hi all.
Please kindly explain to me the difference between vMIVB and ISS in terms of licensing. installation and user capacities. I really can't tell what separates them. Is ISS installed on bare metal and vMIVB on VMware?

Exactly that. vMiVB is in VMWare whereas ISS is a physical server. You require a virtualisation license in order to deploy on vmware. You deploy an OVA for virtual too which makes life a little easier, also upgrades are easier due to ability to restore from running server. ISS servers can be large but from a personal point of view I would prefer virtual.
 
iss could also be considered Hyper-V deployed MIVB

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
