I have a new install of VMPro 8.0(1009). I set up my SMTP info during installation and it successfully checks the settings. But I am not getting email notifications for new voicemails.

What I did notice is that when I open the VMPro app from control panel, before it opens, I get a message saying that there is no email program associated with the requested action. If i click 'okay', it continues like normal.

Then if i go into VMPro->Administration->Preferences->General->Email, the MAPI check box is not available.

Any ideas?

My only point is that vm to email has many failure points so it is not as simple as Avelict contends. For example SMTP is only half in the hands of Avaya IPO. The other half is the receiver. It is rare when IPO fails to send. It is more common for the mail to be rejected by the net. So you have to understand both halves to be able to repair when issues arise.

You are an experienced tech who is a regular poster here. Not sure that I disagreed with you. :)

no no sorry you miss my articulation i wanted your opinion , i did not actually pay any attention to AVelict as it was not relevant , just interested in other peoples views on the IPO and its operation and how people post on here thats all, as its gone far beyond that faithfull old pair of wires that used to sit on a frame ...but i think sometimes people wish that where still the case and dont want to further themselves and get involved, that is what really winds me up and you seem like you know both sides of the coin so i was being nosey really and picking your brain.

OIC.. Well in that case I suppose I agree. You have to get into the net architecture to be relevant today.
