Hello all,
I have a customer who was on IPO 7.0, and using a HostGator SMTP server to serve VM to email. Then, I was notified last week that it had stopped working (after a couple years of working).

So, I've upgraded them to 9.0.9, and set up a Gmail account.

The SMTP settings are presently as shown in the screen shot, though I originally tried using port 25, and did not check the STARTTLS check box.

I have a default route of 0.0.0.0 going out on LAN 1 and pointed to the gateway, I also have the DNS set for the LAN DNS info.

I have had monitor running for a day and a half now, and searched it to find "ADDR(" but that code could not be found, nor could "SMTP" also, I do not see a Link alarm in System Status...

What am I missing?

Did you enable the SMTP filter in Monitor? You will find it in the services tab. The is a DNS filter option as well.

I have now enabled the SMTP and DNS filters in Monitor. I mistakenly thought that was defaulted on.

Also, I tried to setup the 2 factor auth, and got an error from Gmail that I could not do this on this account. "The setting you are looking for is not available for your account.

There is a second step for gmail accounts you must now complete.

If you follow my FAQ i have a hyperlink to fix this.
Look for the FAQ titled, 'embedded voicemail to email 9.0.3+'
You must enable access from non secure apps in your gmail account.

How's your car?

thanks holdmusic34. I have already allowed the unsecure access in the Gmail settings.

Set system events for reboots to your email address.
Merge with a reboot and watch in monitor with smtp filter. You'll see a major error in red text. Otherwise, read the smtp trace. It's in clear language and tells you what the problem is.
