Hello,
We have Avaya IP500 v2 Firmware v7 with Manager v9.0 running in Partner mode.
We have the Essentials License.

Our voicemail to e-mail keeps quitting on us, and a reboot fixes it 80% of the time.
I know the config is good since it does work just after roboot.
Does anyone have any troubleshooting ideas for this? If not, is there a way I can program an automatic reboot of this system?

Thanks,
Eric

Your best bet is to open SysMon before you reboot it and leave a couple test voicemails. You will see the system try to send the SMTP messages and it will display the error. One system I had the issue with because the Tech hard set the IP address of the email server rather than the DNS Name and the IP was changed causing sender failures.

I would look at your smtp relay. Chances are it is seeing the email as spam and blocks it. A reboot re-synchs the connection and will allow them again until the server decides to block them again.

We had this issue too and as has been mentioned, a reboot will re-synch the connection. We have one site using my personal email account from a home line that I never use and it is never a problem. Their IT person hosts their office email and it worked, but only 50% of the time. I think it may also have to do with too many failed attempts to authenticate and then it quits. My 2 cents.

The buffer gets to 5 emails then it just says fuggit.
R7 needs an ip address for smtp server. You couldnt use an FQDN until r9.

Voicemail to email and system alarm events were crap until R9 with the inclusion of FQDNs.

Remember your training and you will make it back alive!
