VM restore

I'm replacing a VM card on a magix. There is a b/u pcmcia card in place but it is unknown when last b/u was. I should be able to restore settings and mailboxes but not messages, right? Haven't done this before. How should I go about this?

never mind... it was the 016trr polarity issue...
