vm prompts on embedded vm 1

We just installed a system ip office 500v2 8.0.56 software.
9608 digital phones embedded vm.
The customer is using visual voice, when they select vm button and it goes into mailbox, #1 it does not require them to put in a password. Wich it should
# 2 there are no prompts in the box, for example when you go to record the greeting it just goes silent it doesn't tell you to record after the beep etc.
Any ides?

1) The source number tab tells the system that the phone is a trusted user, and no password is required. Delete that, and log in one time through *17 to get the password in place.

2) No, that's the point of VISUAL voicemail. Press greeting, and you get a button for Record. Press Record and you get a button for Stop. So, as soon as you press Record, you're live and recording. If you want the friendly lady to take you through the process, then use *17 instead.
