Hello guys!

Would like to know if any of you have seen something like the situation above (and hopefully have a solution :D)

I´m working on a client that has 3 IPO´s on an SCN, all of them R6 (till today), with CCR and VMPro. The goal today is to upgrade all of the to R8.1(65).

I´v readed on the tech bulletin that i would need to upgrade all systems to R7 or R8 before going to R8.1 FP1. So i did.

First i´ve ugraded the IPO´s, from 6.0 to 7.0, them from 7.0 to 8.1. After that i backed um the VMPro and upgraded it to the R7 equivalent (VMPRO7_0_35). At the end of the upgrade the installer asked for a reboot. That´s when the problem started.

Now the server keeps asking for a reboot. When the boot process finishes and i log in, i receive a window informing that the installer finished the instalation process and only gives me the option to reboot.

Any tips about it?

You could go into msconfig and remove the VMPro installer reference from the startup section, that should let you get beyond the boot loop at least :)

But can i do it from a another machine? Because on the server after username and password i receive imediately the box with the reboot option.

I dont get access to the desktop.

What im doing now is to prevent the windows installer service for starting.

Interrupt the boot and boot in safe mode, then remove the entry :)

Hey Amriddle, ty for the advice. I´ve managed to stop the MSI Service through another server on the same network. Then it became possible to loggin properly and correct the instalation.
