Is there any way to setup VM Pro to send the voicemail from the actual users account, instead of say XXX@voicemail.com,

the reason I ask is when people see the email that comes in, it shows the username, so people think they are replying to that users voicemail, instead of the system. But in fact they are sending it to an email address that doesnt really exist.

Any ideas?

Never heard of people trying to respond to a voicemail email...that's a special kind of customer you have there. Just change the display name in SMTP settings from XXX@voicemail.com to DoNotReply@voicemail.com. If they still try to reply, well...like i said, you've got a special kind of customer!

I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.

Yeah, I know, im not the one wondering. I just need someone else to tell me how dumb they are, instead of me saying it. So thank you ;)

But this is in the documentation for VM Pro Page 174

· Sender (Identifier)
Note that some servers will only accept e-mails from a specific sender or sender domain. If left blank, the voicemail
server will insert a sender using either the e-mail address set for the voicemail mailbox user if set or otherwise
using the best matching name it can resolve from the IP Office.

If I read this right, leaving the identifier blank would then send the mail from whatever is set under the usernames email account on the voicemail tab?

Anyone offer information on this?
