Good morning Avaya gurus!

I have one user complaining that the first parts (10 - 20 seconds) of her voicemails are being cut off.

I've seen one or two threads about END truncation - but this is a new one for me. Seems rare.

Anyone else seen this - or have any ideas?

IPO v8, vmpro v8

Thanks in advance!

Do you do voice recording?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Hi TLPeter - yes, the voice recordings that have been left in her VM box.

I've been monitoring her mailbox and I haven't heard this myself yet. I've asked her to leave the recordings for me. (Not sure what good this will do - but couldn't hurt...)

If you think of anything - please post back. Another v8 oddity, perhaps?

Thanks!

Aha! Figured it out myself - last night during a period of sleeplessness!

User had recorded a DTMF tone at the end of her greeting. It was followed by several seconds of silence.

Callers were mistaking the DTMF for the "beep"!

I whacked it using wav editing software. Problem solved!

Have a great day all! :)

Nice :)

Thanks tlpeter!

Just for grins, I went through other greetings and found a few other users that would've had similar issues.

Can't recall off-hand - but I think they're supposed to hit "1" when done - but they hit "#" (or vice versa). The tone sticks, and voila!

I wouldn't be surprised if others are affected by this - and aren't aware of it.

Take care!

Updated 8.0 to .44 last night. Hopefully this cures some of the other annoyances.

Thanks for your posts, nice chattin' with ya!

Take care!
