I am not able to get VM to work on a new IP Office 406 system. I have reinstalled everything a couple times and read every guide and manual i can find, done sample modules, and nothing works.

first thing you want to look for is to see if you lisences are valid.

i just realized that i don't have the compact flash card. is this a must have or just for additional storage?

Where is the VM Pro server installed????

What happens when you dial *17 from a phone.

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

I installed everythin on the comp that has manager and all the avaya stuff. it says "number busy" when i dail *17.

open manager, connect to your system, check the license tab for the status.

there's your busy signal, did you install your licenses? dongle and key server? in the task bar do you have a red dongle icon, or is it white with a red X?

i have the key server, what i think it is, a connector like a db9 with male and female ends? the dongle was white with a red X. i right clicked it to see what it said and accidentally clicked exit.

VM still not working and everything with the licence is valid and working. any other suggestions? is the compact flash card a neccesity?

Compact Flash Card would be for Embedded Voicemail, not Voicemail Pro, try restarting the server/PC that you have VMPro installed on, or you can stop/restart the CMPro service

You don't need the card.
Go in to the manager program, and under system, go to voicemail. Make sure that Voicemail Pro/ Lite is selected and not Embedded Voicemail..

Also, in manager, under system, in the voicemail tab, make sure you have the IP address for the voicemail server entered in there.

Also check to make sure the VMPro service is started and running on the server.

i thought i was told by the customer that this had embedded vm. how do you know if it is embedded or not?
