Am I correct that VM Pro 11.0 still work with IPO 11.1? I know Avaya may not support it but my understanding is within major release this will work.

it works when connected to a 11.0 system with some 11.1 systems in the SCN but I am not sure if it still works directly connected to a 11.1 system

I just picked up a customer who has two IPO systems in SCN. They want to upgrade to 11.1 but don't really want to have a Linux machine on their network. The main site, with VMPro server has Voicemail type set to none. They dont want any voicemail at tat site. But the second sit is set to centralized and they use VM. I may just take them up to the latest version of 11.0.8 which came out the same date as 11.1.8 What can you tell me about that latest 11.0?

Ask them if they are OK with a Linux server in Hyper-V on top of a Windows machine.

Most customers unfamiliar with Linux are just simply scared that something happens and they don't know anything about it and how to fix it but are easier when it runs on a Windows base and have access.

Security should not be a concern on Linux vs Windows

I run several 11.0.4.7 versions out there and some 11.0.4.8 and all have basically no issues. It always depends what you use them for and what special devices, features and settings you have as they all work with regular programming that is not way out there.

No need to worry about Linux! It asks for a few settings in the initial setup and then from then on everything is accessed from a web browser or the VMP client.

Thanks for the replies. I talked to the customer and they are willing to give it a try. I think they will get it running on a different machine and then migrate files over to it. They really dont want to wipe out the existing VM server.
