Any ideas?...

VM Pro 9.1.6
IP 500v2 9.1.6

Everything was working just fine. When I came in today, callers hear silence when the vmpro answers outside calls.

When I call main number, the system picks up but I hear silence... I cannot hear the main greeting.

When I call any DID from my cell phone, if no personal greeting has been recorded, the default greeting is played.
But if a personal greeting is recorded, the voicemail picks up but I hear silence.
It seems like none of the wav files arent being heard.

Same goes for main number menu prompts.
For test, I created a module named "MainMenu". Recorded prompt,Main.WAV, using the phone extension.

Created shortcode *93 / Voicemail Collect / "MainMenu"
when I press *93 from extension, I hear the recorded greeting.
When I call into the DID, the ICR destination is VM:MainMenu - hear silence
I changed ICR destination to *93, but same thing.

The system status shows voicemail port being used and call rings into Voicemail MainMenu, so it looks like it routes correctly.

I uninstalled VMpro and reinstalled, but no change.
I imported the EmptyDB.MDB and started over, but no change.

Any ideas on this? I'm stumped

I checked access rights and I made sure all have full permission.
It is saving the files.
Passwords are good

Verbose trace...I've haven't traced on VMPRO..I'll try it.

UPDATE: the voicemail Pro isn't routing the calls at all...
VMPRO does not route calls. cannot leave messages.
Once the call is dumped into VMPRO from the IPO, it goes to dead air. the VMPRO accepts the call but nothing more.
see tests below

test 1 - I set up module "Test"
ICR destination VM:Test
start point to Transfer--->extension 1013
call doesn't route to extension 1013
status only says call is in mailbox Test

test 2 - module "Test"
ICR destination VM:Test
start point to hunt group "Commercial" (ext 1013,101
4,1015)
calls don't ring to the extensions at all
status only says call is in mailbox Test

test 3 - Called extension 1014 directly
phone rings twice, then dead air.
status shows mailbox #Sheryl (ext1014 correct mailbox..she set up personal greeting)
unable to leave vmail message. unable to 0 out. doesn't respond to dtmf

Erase the security rights in Manager, set a password for VM Pro in the security settings.
Then in the VM Pro client set the same password and restart VM Pro.
Uh, and check if you have a valid Preference license in Manager/System Status.

Intigrant, Ive erased the security rights. Though, I dont see where to set a password for VMPro in security settings. Do I create a VM Pro service user?

nevermind...I set password for voicemail in security settings. then set password in vmpro to match.

R8+ Preferred edition license valid. Is that right?? R8+ for 9.1+ system?

THERE's the problem. R8+ vm preferred license...wrong one.RIGHT?

Nevermind...thats not the problem. 8+ preferred is the same and is ok.

Im going to rebuild the app server from scratch. I dont know what else to do.

Rebuilt server from scratch and I still have the same problem.
Any other ideas?
I'll play around with debug some more

This is the strangest report I have ever seen - VM Pro is normally the most reliable of all the Avaya applications (it simply works).

That said V9.1 is one of the worst releases of IP office I have seen (only beaten by V4.0 which was superseded before it was fixed).

at this stage I would recommend that you ensure everything is on the latest maintenance release (V9.1.11 unless a new one has been released recently) & if the problem still persists escalate to Avaya

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

RESOLVED!!!!

Thank you for all of your help out there!!

I agree,IPGuru, 9.1 has been extremely problematic.

I finally upgraded to 9.1.11 as suggested by Intigrant and IPGuru.

the upgrade, alone, might have fixed the issue...but before I imported data, I tested and it was working.
I didn't want to take any chances with importing anything that would screw it up so
I continued to program everything from scratch...vmail and IPO.

All good...for now
