Hi everyone

The Problem: As the title says Voicemail Pro can't connect to the central unit (says the System Status)

The setup: IPO v8.1(56) with a UCM (also on 8.1(56)) with both services OneX Portal and Voicemail Pro running

OneX runs just fine but no matter what I try I can't get VMP to work... Basically if you try *17 you get a busy tone and system status says there was a problem with VMP connecting to IPO

I set the VM IP to 169.154.0.2 in manager as the official documentation says

After two completet re-installs of the UCM I finally ask you for your help - if you need to know anything more from me just ask.

I'm hoping for quick help, thx in advance!!

Greetings from Germany :)

Did you go to right after the installation?
You need to do the ignition and give it it;s own IPAddress (do not change the 169.xxx.xxx.xxx address!!!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Yes, I did do the initialization (or whatever you may call it ;)) and as I said OneX Portal works just fine..
What 169.xxxxxxx address do you mean exactly? I haven't seen one.. I only changed the IP of the UCM to match my customers network and in the settings of the IPO I set the Voicemail IP to 169.254.0.2 (as this seems to be some kind of internal address..)

I can connect to VM Pro and configure everything, it's only the connection between IPO and VM Pro that doesn't work..

I hope my information can help you in any way..

Do you have an essential edition license in your system?
If not then your preferred edition license is dormant instead of valid.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Licence Key: Virtual UCM Preferred Edition
Licence Type: R8+ Preferred Edition (VM Pro)
State: Valid

Does this bring you any further?

But is there an essential edition licence?

Oh yeah sorry, there is and it's valid

Now I get a BIOS error in system status.. any suggestions what to do except sending the UCM in to Avaya?

Yes, sen dit back.
I had the same once and the SSD was broken but it can be anything.
Did you perhaps unplugged the power of the IPO without shutting everything down properly?
This can cause these kind of issues.

Ok thank you, I'll send it in.

No I didn't and there wasn't any power failure at the time..

I'm hoping the problems I had with VM Pro had something to do with that...
